About Us

Organized in 1968 with a single office in Effingham, West & Company, LLC has expanded to become a multi-office public accounting firm serving clients throughout Illinois.

With six offices located in Champaign, Edwardsville, Effingham, Greenville, Mattoon and Sullivan Illinois, we serve a host of clients ranging from individuals to large closely-held corporations. Our client list includes commercial businesses, governmental units and non-profit organizations.

Our over seventy professionals and support staff are able to provide specialized services in the areas of accounting and auditing, taxation (including individual, business, estate and fiduciary), management consulting, employee benefit plan consulting and administration, and litigation support.

We take pride in having helped our clients and communities prosper since 1968, and looking forward to our next half century of providing these services.

Timeline

      Joseph Brumleve, CPA, leaves Guager & Diehl, CPAs in Decatur to open a practice in his hometown of Effingham.

    • 1971

      Bill Dabbs, CPA, leaves Price Waterhouse, Chicago, moves to Sullivan, but practices in Effingham and Sullivan.

    • 1972

      Joe and Bill organize Brumleve & Dabbs, CPAs and Bill manages the Firm’s Sullivan office.

    • 1980

      Mike Boyd is admitted as a partner and opens the Mattoon office of Brumleve & Dabbs, CPAs.

    • 1986

      Richard C. West, CPA, opens office in Mattoon.

    • 1987

      Ken Vogt and Lynn Freese are admitted as Partners and, together with Bill Dabbs and Mike Boyd, acquire Joe Brumleve’s partnership interest.

    • 1989

      Brumleve & Dabbs, CPAs merge with Richard C. West, CPA. The Firm changes its name to Boyd, Freese, West & Vogt, CPAs.

    • 1991

      Boyd, Freese, West & Vogt, CPAs acquires the assets of Bruce E. Turley, CPA, Ltd. in Greenville.

    • 1993

      Boyd, Freese, West & Vogt, CPAs combine with Arthur C. Willenborg, accountant, the operations of which are consolidated with the Firm’s Effingham office.

    • 1996

      Brian Daniell, CPA, admitted as a Partner.

    • 1997

      Firm changes structure from a general partnership to a limited liability company and changes its name to West & Company, LLC.

    • 1999

      Janice Romack, CPA, admitted as a Partner.

    • 2002

      Diana Smith, CPA, admitted as a Partner.

    • 2006

      The firm opens its Edwardsville Office with Josh Lowe as Manager.

    • 2007

      D. Raif Perry, CPA, and John Vogt, CPA, admitted as partners.

    • 2010

      Joshua Lowe CPA, CFP®, admitted as a Partner.

    • 2016

      David Faller, CPA, admitted as a Partner. The firm opens its Champaign Office with Seth Dixon as Manager.

    • 2017

      Alex Hagen, CPA, admitted as a Partner.

    • 2018

      Clayton Hinton, CPA, admitted as a Partner.

    • 2019

      Nathan Earnst, CPA, admitted as a Partner

    • 2021

      Michael Lawler, CPA, CFE, admitted as a Partner 

    • 2022

      Russell Voudrie, CPA, admitted as a Partner

    • 2024

      Russell Jordan, CPA, admitted as a Partner
